YellowSquare to open next-generation hostel in Naples

Jul 9, 2026

YellowSquare is set to expand its Italian portfolio with a new hostel in the heart of Naples, following the acquisition of the city’s former Palazzo della Zecca by Prelios SGR. The historic building will be restored and redeveloped before reopening under the YellowSquare brand as a next-generation hospitality hub.

Located in Naples’ Pendino district, the property will combine accommodation with coworking facilities, event spaces, a bar, communal areas and a programme of cultural activities designed to bring together international travellers and local residents. The redevelopment will also prioritise sustainability, with the building targeting a BREEAM In-Use “Very Good” certification.

Fabio Coppola, Chief Vision Officer at YellowSquare, said the project marks an important milestone in the company’s growth strategy. “Our arrival in Naples represents a crucial step in the expansion of our network of contemporary squares,” he said. “The former Palazzo della Zecca is the perfect fit for our hybrid hospitality model, creating an open and welcoming space that connects visitors with the city while offering locals a place to meet, work and experience culture.”

The Naples property will further strengthen YellowSquare’s presence in Italy, adding another destination to its portfolio of community-focused hostels designed to combine accommodation, social spaces and local experiences.
