Drifter and Greyhound Australia launch DRIFTHOUND, combining 10 nights of accommodation with 30 days of East Coast travel

Sep 10, 2026

Drifter and Greyhound Australia have partnered to launch DRIFTHOUND, a new travel pass designed to make it easier for travellers to stay, move and explore their way along Australia’s East Coast.

Bringing together Drifter’s Wanderpass with Greyhound Australia’s 30 Day East Coast Travel Pass, DRIFTHOUND combines accommodation and transport in one travel product, giving travellers the flexibility to build their own itinerary across some of Australia’s most popular destinations.

Available for AUD 1,050, the DRIFTHOUND pass includes 10 nights accommodation across all eleven Drifter and Little Drifter properties, alongside 30 consecutive days of unlimited Greyhound coach travel on eligible East Coast routes.

The partnership taps into a new generation of independent travellers looking for greater flexibility in how they experience Australia. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, DRIFTHOUND has been designed to let travellers build the trip as they go – staying longer in one destination, changing plans along the way and travelling between participating Drifter locations without the need to hire a car.

Drifter’s Australian network currently spans Surry Hills, Bondi Beach, Byron Bay, Canberra, Cairns, North Melbourne and Melbourne CBD connecting city stays with some of the country’s best-known coastal destinations.

“Great travel should feel open, flexible and easy to say yes to,” said Luke Moran, Co-CEO at Drifter. “The DRIFTHOUND pass brings together two parts of the journey that matter most: where you stay and how you move. By combining Drifter’s digitised Wanderpass with Greyhound Australia’s 30 Day Travel Pass, we are helping travellers build their own version of Australia, one stop, one story and one unexpected detour at a time.”

Drifter launched Wanderpass last year as a flexible alternative to booking individual stays, allowing travellers to pre-pay for accommodation nights and redeem them across participating Drifter properties.
By purchasing nights upfront, travellers can lock in accommodation rates and save up to $750 compared with standard bookings, depending on the pass, destination and travel dates.

DRIFTHOUND takes the concept a step further by pairing those stays with Greyhound Australia’s extensive East Coast network. Travellers can use their Greyhound pass for unlimited travel on some of the country’s most iconic East Coast travel corridors for 30 consecutive days in either direction, giving them the flexibility to stay longer in one destination, move on to the next or change their itinerary along the way.

Renata Berglas, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Sales at Greyhound Australia, said the partnership had been designed around making independent East Coast travel easier.

“From the very beginning, both Drifter and Greyhound Australia shared a vision of making East Coast travel simpler, more flexible and more rewarding for travellers,” Berglas said.

“DRIFTHOUND is the result of collaboration, bringing together Greyhound’s coach services and Drifter accommodation in one seamless package. We can’t wait to see travellers discover Australia’s East Coast and stay a little longer in the sunshine.”

The partnership forms part of Drifter’s broader approach to creating a new generation of hotel-hostel accommodation across Australia and New Zealand, combining design-led stays with shared spaces, events, local culture and destination experiences. Following the opening of Drifter Christchurch in 2024 and Drifter Byron Bay in 2025, the brand is continuing to expand its network across Australia and New Zealand, with new properties in Wellington, Auckland and Melbourne opening in late 2026 and 2027.
