Janice Sousa brings 17+ years as a seasoned revenue, operations and sales leader and serial entrepreneur. Currently, Janice serves as the CEO & Co-founder at indie, where she believes the future of travel will include content creators and a new generation of guides. A proud Advisor to #MoveTheDial, Fora (in partnership with the UN & UNAC), an Activator and Mentor for SheEO, and a Provincial Ambassador for Women in Tech, she is passionate about supporting female-led ventures.  

 Janice was previously a guest lecturer at Humber and Centennial College and was selected to participate in the Austrian Leadership Program in 2018-19 to support start-ups in Austria and Canada to understand mutual export markets better. She maintains strong roots in the larger travel industry, with active participation in SYTA, WYSE, NAIS, CAIS and TICO. In 2018, she was named one of Canadian Traveller’s Top 40 Under 40 and speaker at NY Travel Fest. Her recent speaking includes World Federation of Tour Guides (Feb 2022), International Association of Directors & Tour Guides (Feb 2022), and Glasgow City College (Jan 2022). She is also a Lecturer at the University of Toronto (Foundations of Entrepreneurship) and Humber College (Emerging Trends in Tourism).
