STAY WYSE Budapest buyers familiarisation tour
Courtesy of sponsors Memento Park and Retro Experience Museum, buyers attending STAY WYSE 2026 will have the chance to experience two unique attractions in Budapest on the afternoon of Wednesday, 4 February 2026.
Memento Park
Memento Park is Europe’s first thematic museum about the fall of dictatorship, reminding visitors of the historical period that produced artworks to persuade and command political attention. Forty-one pieces of art from the Communist era (1945-1989) are displayed in the park, many large statues, but also photographs and a cinema.

Retro Experience Museum
Retro Experience Museum welcomes visitors into Hungary’s history with interactive exhibits. The museum’s collection of vintage cars, household gadgets, and other everyday accessories from the past are both fun and educational ways to experience and understand the past.

Important information
- Please wear your STAY WYSE Conference badge at all times.
- Part of the tour of Memento Park is outdoors, so please wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather. Tea will be provided.
- There will be a tour guide on each coach. To keep the timing of the excursion, we kindly ask you to stay with your guide and group during the programme.
- The condensed visit of Memento Park will focus on the conceptual design and historical context that keeps attracting visitors for 30+ years.
- The Retro Experience Museum tour will introduce you to a way of life that the whole world experienced simultaneously, regardless of and independently from the political atmosphere. Yet, you will see that it evokes different emotions in people from post-socialist countries.
- Coach transfers are only available between the conference venue, Memento Park and the Retro Experience Museum.
- Please consider our itinerary with 15 to 30 extra minutes in mind for unforeseen traffic conditions.
- The tour ends at the Retro Experience Museum in the city centre with enough time to grab a bite to eat and freshen up before the networking party. There is a bistro offering warm dishes at Retro Experience Museum or you can find several other eateries in the city centre near the Basilica.
- Dinner and transportation to/from host accommodations and the networking party are on your own.
